Anchor support more than 65,000 residents and work with more than 10,000 colleagues in almost 1,700 locations across England, covering more than 85% of local council.

Anchor's Business Plan


Our Business Plan details how we want to transform housing and care so people can have a home where they love living.

We’re providing more homes where people love living in later life. Our financial strength is enabling us to build ourselves or work with partners to create at least 5,700 new homes, including those already in development, either completed or under construction by the end of 2033. This programme will be split with an approximate mix of 45% affordable or social rent, 45% shared ownership and 10% private sale. Our strategy also targets the expansion of our care business, growing the portfolio in the coming years. We’re also doing more for existing residents and have invested in wellbeing and money advice services, for example. 

This means more opportunities for colleagues. We’re committed to being an employer of choice – listening and acting on colleague feedback, supporting colleagues’ well-being and valuing diversity. As a not-for-profit organisation, the more efficient we are the more we have to reinvest. We’re challenging ourselves to innovate and do things better, throughout the organisation. Meet the Team

Executive Team

Sarah joined Anchor as Finance Director in September 2014 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2022. She is a Chartered Management Accountant and has held a variety of senior finance roles across large corporate and private equity businesses. Sarah is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Audit & Risk for Chelmer Housing Partnership, a charitable housing association based in Essex.

Oliver Boundy, Anchor's 2022 addition, directs the development and sales program for the organization's entire housing and care services spectrum. Formerly the Executive Director of Development & Growth at Southern Housing Group for almost six years, he led substantial initiatives and forged strategic partnerships. Oliver's career commenced on the Edmonton Green Regeneration Project, evolving through roles at Metropolitan's Development Team. In 2014, as Assistant Development Director at Origin Housing, he expanded the development program, establishing it as a vital partner in the Heart of Harrow Housing Zone.

John Westwood, who joined Anchor in June 2021, oversees property services, strategic asset management, and health and safety. With almost 30 years in the property industry, he previously served as the Executive Director of Asset Management at NHS Property Services (NHSPS). His career spans roles at Richard Ellis (CBRE) and PwC Consulting, and he has held various senior corporate real estate positions in the UK, Europe, and globally, with companies like Fidelity, Pfizer, Citigroup, and BT.

Rob Martin, a vital part of Anchor's leadership since 2013, oversees registered care services and serves as the "Nominated Individual" with the Care Quality Commission. His role extends to being a Board Member with the National Care Forum and a former Non-Executive Director for Churchlake Care LLP, broadening his board-level experience since 2018. With a social care career dating back to 2001, Rob's diverse background includes almost seven years with the 40 Regiment in the Royal Artillery, contributing to his current high-pressure role. Leadership refinement continues through The King's Fund's Top Manager Programme, recognized for developing senior leaders in Health and Social Care for over 30 years.

Suki Jandu, Anchor's Executive Director of Housing Services since November 2021, oversees rented and homeownership housing, including extra care. He manages the customer contact center and services at Anchor On Call. With extensive housing sector experience, Suki served as Group Executive Director at Futures Housing Group and is a Group Audit Committee Member at Riverside. Previously, he directed housing services for Clarion Housing Group's central region, leading teams for 23,000 mixed-tenure homes, and contributed to the strategic development of the region. Suki also held a Board position at St Ledger Homes.

Amanda Holgate, joining Anchor in February 2023 and becoming a Board member in May 2023, is responsible for ensuring the organization's financial sustainability. With over eight years in the housing sector, she served as CFO at Southern Housing Group and held finance roles at Family Mosaic and Peabody. Amanda, also a Board Trustee and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee at Centrepoint, brings over 20 years of financial and commercial experience from diverse sectors, including financial services, technology, and retail asset management.
