The Challenge
Thirteen Group, a housing association managing 35,000 homes and supporting 73,000 residents, required a Director of Governance to provide strategic leadership in governance, risk, and compliance. This role was critical in ensuring regulatory excellence, strengthening decision-making processes, and embedding a governance culture that aligned with Thirteen’s ambitious growth plans.
The ideal candidate needed to be an experienced governance professional with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and board-level advisory. They had to be able to influence at all levels, foster collaboration, and drive continuous improvement. With a new strategic plan on the horizon, the organisation sought a leader who could elevate governance beyond compliance, integrating it into the core of business strategy.
